DCBA Drive-Thru Food Drive

Stacey McCullough and Britni Bartik are pleased to participate in the DCBA Drive-Thru Food Drive, a collaboration of Lawyers Lending a Hand and the DuPage County Courthouse to help restock Milton Township Food Pantry’s shelves. Collection will continue today until 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the DuPage Bar Center, 126 S. County Farm Road, Wheaton. Donations will also be welcomed directly at the Milton Township Food Pantry, 1492 N. Main St., Wheaton, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. any Monday through Thursday.

Adopt a Resident program at the DuPage Care Center

We were honored to participate in the Adopt a Resident program at the DuPage Care Center (formerly the DuPage Convalescent Center) this holiday season, adopting more than 20 residents. The mission of the DuPage Care Center is to provide quality long term care as well as short term rehabilitative services to DuPage County residents in a professional and cost-effective manner.

We are pleased to share the warmth and participate in Lawyers Lending a Hand November Coat Drive again this year.

DuPage PADS Client Service Center

Some staff from MKFM Law volunteered Saturday at DuPage PADS Client Service Center inventorying, sorting and organizing donated clothes at the Employment Clothing Closet.

29th Annual Charity Ball & Halloween Party

Attorneys from MKFM Law recently attended the 29th Annual Charity Ball & Halloween Party for the benefit of Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland and NW Indiana. The DuPage Chapter Justinian Society of Lawyers hosted the event.

DCBA Installation

Attorney Stacey A. McCullough, of counsel, was sworn in by Judge Brian Jacobs as she was installed as the 98th President of the DuPage County Bar Association (DCBA) for 2019-2020; Henry D. Kass accepted the Board of Directors Award from outgoing President J. Matthew Pfeiffer; and Lynn M. Mirabella gave the invocation.

Cosley Zoo 2019 Run for the Animals 5k/10k

MKFM enjoyed a terrific morning while sponsoring the Cosley Zoo 2019 Run for the Animals 5k/10k in Wheaton on Saturday, June 8. The weather was perfect, families joined in the festivities, and it was a pleasure to meet so many participants from the community after the race.

HOPE Hustle 5k Race and Fun Run/Walk

MKFM was proud to be a sponsor of the HOPE Hustle 5k Race and Fun Run/Walk this past weekend, organized by the St. Charles East High School HOPE Club (Helping Others Protect Each other). This Club’s mission is to reduce suicide, depression and bullying, problems which have a significant impact on youth and teens. The HOPE Club works to combat these problems by increasing awareness, positivity, and healthy lifestyles among youth and teens.

Lawyers Lending a Hand

MKFM collected more than 250 toys, and won a friendly competition between several local firms for the most items collected for the holiday toy drive. Lawyers Lending a Hand coordinated the event in which more than 900 items were gathered and transported by the Winfield Fire Protection District to Santa. Many local children will be delighted this Christmas!

Mock Trial

A Mock Trial gained the insights of MKFM attorneys Joshua Bedwell, Lindsay Stella and Hon. John Demling (ret.) as West Chicago High School teacher Ashley Walsh challenges her class to two employment discrimination trials. The Business Law teacher reported that the students had so much fun and “learned a ton”.

November Coat Drive

MKFM wins a friendly competition between several local firms for the most coats collected during a November Coat Drive! The Children’s Advocacy Committee teamed up with Lawyers Lending a Hand to collect outerwear, and more than 1,830 items were ultimately gathered by DuPage County employees and distributed to local organizations!

Happy Blankets

MKFM team members took some time out to make more than 15 blankets for the organization Happy Blankets. These fun, fuzzy blankets were donated to oncology patients at Delnor Hospital, Delnor Cancer Center, CDH, and the Living Well Center.

DuPage County Justinian Society for Lawyers 28th Annual Charity Ball

As President of the DuPage County Justinian Society of Lawyers, MKFM Partner Lindsay Stella oversaw the planning of the 28th Annual Charity Ball in Downers Grove this year. $5000 was raised and donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities and their terrific facility in Winfield, IL, while almost $80,000 has been donated collectively to the organization over the last five years.
