Michael J. Rutcosky

Mike is a seasoned litigation attorney with over 20 years of experience representing clients in criminal law, family law and education law.
Mike received his J.D. in 2001 from the Valparaiso University School of Law and graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1998.
After finishing law school, Mike went to work at a busy criminal defense firm in Cook County where he successfully defended cases throughout Illinois in State and Federal court. Mike has defended clients charged with the most serious offenses as well as individuals charged with traffic related matters before the Illinois Secretary of State.
Before joining Mirabella, Kincaid, Frederick & Mirabella, Mike gained valuable education law experience while working as a consultant for the New York City Department of Education where he conducted disciplinary hearings and defended special education claims made against the largest school district in the United States.
Attorney Rutcosky has guided clients through some of life’s most challenging events involving divorce, child custody, orders of protection and domestic violence. With a client-first approach, Mike has always valued accessibility and transparency with his clients.
Mike is a lifelong resident of Naperville, Illinois where he enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams and spending time with friends and neighbors.
