Attorney Henry D. Kass Receives DCBA Director's Award

WHEATON, ILL. (PRWEB) AUGUST 5TH, 2019

Henry D. Kass

Attorney Henry D. Kass recently received the DuPage County Bar Association's (DCBA) Director's Award. Henry was one of only six recipients for this distinguished award. This honor was bestowed upon Henry for his work on the Domestic Relations Trial Advocacy Training Program. In addition, Henry is serving as the Chair to the Family Law Section and will be responsible for planning and moderating the Guardian Ad Litem training program in November of this year.

Henry is a partner at Mirabella, Kincaid, Frederick and Mirabella Law, LLC, whose practice areas include domestic relations, guardianship, and criminal law. He is currently licensed in Illinois and Iowa and primarily serves clients in the counties of Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, and Will.

After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa, Henry studied abroad at the University of the Basque Country in San Sebastian, Spain. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law. Henry then became an Assistant State's Attorney with the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office under now Appellate Court Justice, Joseph E. Birkett. In his time there, he prosecuted domestic violence and felony cases and was awarded a Special Commendation.

Henry also taught family law for five years at the College of DuPage. He has served as the Vice Chair and Chair to the Child Advocacy Section and Family Law Section. Henry has been awarded the Pro Bono Service Award by the DuPage Legal Assistance Foundation and the Board of Directors Award by the DuPage County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Justinian Society of Lawyers, a Fellow of the Illinois Bar Foundation, has served on the DuPage County Judicial Committee, and was elected to two terms as an Assembly Member to the Illinois State Bar Association.

"It was a privilege to be a part of the planning and moderating of the DCBA Domestic Relations Trial Advocacy Program, which was named after Joseph F. Mirabella, Jr., my friend and mentor. To be recognized by my peers with this award added to the privilege an honor," Kass commented.

The DuPage County Bar Association's mission is to support justice in the DuPage community by maintaining the integrity of the legal profession, contributing to the education of future lawyers, and improving the facilitation of justice through charitable acts.
